Los Cojones Boot Camp : WHO IS IT FOR?
For anyone who is serious about improving his riding skills. Who is ready to take small steps out of the comfort zone and make real progress. If you are already fast you can work on improving your sliding skills as well as monitor data logging to work on breaking and turning points, lines and lean angels. If you need training simply to be safer and more confident on the road you will gain some game changing knowledge on body position changes, breaking into corners, building lean and suspension set up. Watch this super short film briefly presenting the Los Cojones experience and later you can get to know all details explained below.
After 8 years of running 42 training camps a year, we gained important experienced finding the most efficient ways to improve riding skills not only for racers or track day enthusiast. Our philosophy is to copy as much from the regular MotoGP riders training as possible- being here in Spain, we do get to train with them on occasions and we pas on the knowledge.
Our training philosophy basically comes down to one rule which is explained in the short message below.
For the Los Cojones Boot Camp we chose two „stages”. We want you to do the flat track stage and asphalt/pit bike stage. Over the years we found that this is the best mixture to gain advanced riding skills quickly. Flat track will help you understand sliding and will drastically improve your body movement, as well as understanding the importance of siting forward. We will focus on the bike „pick up” technique on acceleration. To get an idea you can watch us trying to keep up with Pedro Acosta during flat track session, but these kids have no respect for the elders :):) Anyway, we keep training with the best to provide you with advanced knowledge.
What we learned from MotoGP riders is that riding MiniGP’s or pit bikes allows you to push the limits without high risks of injury. This is a great way not only of learning basics, but also a super efficient way to master more advanced techniques like sliding your bike into the corner. This is why at Los Cojones Boot Camp you will be allocated a perfect IMR 155 Pro Race Pit bike on PMT race tires with a Race box data logger.

With daily onboard filming, data logging analysis and constant one on one tuition the Los Cojones Boot Camp sets new standards in effective development of motorcycle riding skills.
SO WHAT TO EXPECT ?
We host groups of up to 8 riders to insure everyone gets lots of one on one tuition throughout each of the training days. The essence of Los Cojones Boot Camp is to teach you independent work with data related to your riding. Thanks to Racebox data logger each session will deliver a sum of conclusions constituting precise instructions regarding what we need to change in the way we ride. Constant monitoring of your lap times, radius of your lean angles, your lines and many other components will be the basis of daily tips when riding on asphalt. Individual for each rider. During four days of work on the asphalt race track, you will have a lot of basic data to analyze after every session. You will overlay your laps with the optimal lap and compare. You will analyze graphs such as the one below, choose a target and go and improve on the next session.

You will have exclusive use of a motorcycle equipped with a Racebox data logger. It is recommended to bring a computer as the larger screen makes analysis easier. Alternatively, you will be able to analyze the data on your smartphone.
DETAILED SCHEDULE OF LOS COJONES BOOT CAMP
1)Saturday – pick-up from Malaga airport and transfer to the hacienda. It is a 2hrs drive from Malaga and we do stop for groceries on the way. Please note that our hacienda (on film below) is not a hotel – it is more of a house sharing experience. You get your private room as there are 8 bedrooms, 8 bathrooms, two kitchens, a pool and gas barbecues. The house has a traditional Spanish, rural character and as long as you wan’t tell your girlfriend she’s going for a 5 star Spanish holiday you should be just fine 🙂
2) Sunday – first flat track training. Flat track is essential for fast riding on asphalt. It helps to understand the limits of grip because on flat track they come really early. You will learn about the importance of sitting forward, and how you can safely lean the bike in the low grip conditions. You will understand why we need to diversify our body positioning depending on what we want to achieve. Flat track training is going to be concluded on IMR 250FT bikes. 17 inch wheels, 18PS. In the colder months we will start at around 10.00 am, in warmer months at around 08.00 . Duration of the training always depends on the fitness of the riders – it is physically demanding so we are looking at anything between 3 to 4 hrs of total time spent.

3) Monday – second flat track training. On the second day we are turning it up a notch. There will be some racing games, which will motivate us to work more intensively. This usually becomes one of the most favorite days for our riders, of whom some never raced before. Again we will work for 3 to 4 hrs.
4) Tuesday – The Slide Zone Day is the first training session on asphalt. Our target will be to transfer slides from flat track to asphalt. With particular emphasis on the role of the rear brake, body work and how to plan the slide. We start at 09.00 and we stay on the track to aprox 15.00.
5) Wednesday – going anti-clockwise at Copo Race track. This is a day to focus on riding smooth and getting your lines right. We will use Racebox data analysis and onboard videos to make it extremely effective and rewarding experience. The lap times will be showing your improvement in finding the right breaking and turn-in points. You will get to watch your onboard, consult good and bad things, and you will get out there and try to improve.
6) Thursday – going clockwise at Copo track. Changing the direction of the track will allow for diversification of training and re-implementation of analyses. Additional exercises will allow for concentration on correct looking and body position improvement. As always you will use data loggers, and you will be filmed to get more understanding of what you’re doing right and what needs to change. As well as on Wednesday we will analyse your onboard to check whats good and what still needs to be improved.
7) Friday – Los Cojones Suspension Class – huge part of Friday’s training will be devoted to understanding how to work with your suspension settings. Riders will be tasked with doing a short series of laps on different settings to feel the difference in bike’s behavior. Each subsequent session with subsequent modifications will begin to build our understanding of the specifics of making corrections. At the end of the day, everyone will be able to look for their own settings and look for the best lap time, making any further changes. Later, there will be qualifying and a race for all that will feel like giving it a go :).

8) Saturday – day of departure to the airport.

The price does not include flights to Malaga or meals – you can prepare your own meals at the hacienda, or eat in restaurants.

TAKING ADDITIONAL PERSON FREE OF CHARGE
Yes, you can take your non riding partner with you free of charge as long as you sleep in the same bed. The other condition is that you rent a car for the duration of your stay as we are simply not able to provide transportation from the airport and onto the race track for additional people. The cost of a weekly car rental at the Malaga airport is around 120 euros depending on the time of the year. Also please make sure you explain to your partner that this is a training boot camp and not a 5 star holiday on Costa del Sol 🙂
THE RULES OF CRASHING
- Push ups :). This is the fun-punishment if you crash. You get to do ten push-ups for each crash, ladies can do squats. There are no additional consequences for flat track crashes no matter how many you have.
- On asphalt the first 7 crashes have also a 10 push-up penalty. If you keep crashing more then that you will need to pay a 5 euro „beer assistance free” for every following crash starting from the 8th one. In addition to push ups of course 🙂 This is not to get you skint. If you’re fit and the 10 push-ups penalty is not enough to get more concentration out of you, we simply need a next step to get your focus razor sharp :).
3) Each rider is allocated his own motorcycle for riding on the asphalt race track. He receives it in a perfect condition and on perfect PMT tires. The rider will have access to free replacement parts such as handlebars, levers, sets, foot pegs etc. and free access to tools. In the event of damage, the rider replaces the damaged parts with new ones. In an unlikely event of a crash that results in damage beyond repair, the rider will receive another motorcycle, free of any additional charges.
AIRPORT PICK-UP RULES
Choose a plane that lands in Malaga before 10 p.m. – if you do not have this option, consult us about the possibility of picking up after 10.00 pm before buying a ticket.
Be sober when landing. We love having fun, but your behavior cannot be inconvenient for other travelers.
We have to wait for all passengers to land before going to the hacienda. So if you land at 09.00 am and the last person at 19.00 you can plan visiting Malaga or spending some time on the beach. Consult your flights with us to find more about pick up on the chosen date of your camp. Likewise we will go to Malaga airport to be in time for the first person’s flight.
If you will find this inconvenient it may be worth considering a car rental to be totally independent.Off season you can rent a car for a week at Malaga airport for aprox. 100 euro. We will be more than happy to advise where to rent, and we have some discounts you can use.
